ABOUT
Kristen A. Hartman has a Bachelor of Arts in both English and Graphic Design from Illinois State University. She served as Peace Corps Volunteer in Ukraine from 2011–2013. Following Peace Corps service, Kristen received an MFA in Book Arts from the University of Iowa Center for the Book where she focused in bookbinding, letterpress printing, artist's books, and book history. She has worked in book conservation at both the University of Iowa Libraries and Texas A&M University Libraries. Kristen is the proprietor of a modest bindery and letterpress studio, Gute & Berg, in Chicago, Illinois.
